          Product Story

          Kancamagus [kank-uh-mah-gus]

The Kanc is a stretch of land from Lincoln to Conway, New Hampshire. Named after Kancamagus, or “Fearless One”, the once ruler of Southern New Hampshire. The Kancamagus Highway (NH-112) is famous for its beautiful ride with many trailheads and pull-offs to see natural sights.

          Why Merino Wool?

          Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

          Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

          Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

          Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

          UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

          Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

          Well worth the price!

I recently took these on a three day backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains at around 10,500 ft. The temperature got down in th low forties and the sleeping bag I bought was not warm enough so I put these on and with a long sleeved shirt and wool socks, they kept me plenty warm enough. They are very comfortable and caused me no itching unlike most wool. I am definitely planning a purchasing more items from this company.

Glad you had them with you so you could get warm! Thank you for the review.

Wore These On A Backpacking Trip On The Coast Of Washington In Late September. I Never Got Wet Or Cold The Entire Trip, And If You Have Ever Been To The PNW That Time Of Year... That Is Really Saying Something! I'm 6 Ft 175 Lbs And The Medium Fits Perfectly. These Are Loose Fitting And Super Comfy

          Tall size great for 6'3"

Great base layer that fits well. This is my second pair. The first pair is still going strong after many years of wear. Unfortunately they're made in China. I've since switched to an American made brand which is a little more expensive but worth it to keep the jobs here in our country.

          Great warmth and comfort

I bought this as a set, along with the Wolverine crew for a hunting trip. I used them as a base layer under my bibs and coat. The product worked as expected, if not better. I am 6'2" and 250lbs and the XL was the right size. Both pieces were extremely comfortable and kept me warm in mid to low 30 degree weather. I was happy enough that I bought another set.

          Kit,

Thank you for the great review! We are happy to hear that you stayed comfortable sleeping during your camping trip, wearing your Kancamagus Bottoms. Keep warm hunting next month!
