Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

Just what I wanted!

High quality merino, flat lock seams, gusseted, bottom hem is fashioned just like a legging (not like long underwear), wide waist band that sits at hips (not high-waisted), lycra to prevent bagginess, thick material (not see through). Can wear alone as leggings or as a base layer. My only complaint is that they make them only in black. I’d like charcoal gray, please!

Thank you for you review & recommendation. I will pass onto our design team.

Good if you are short. Not designed for tall ladies

Overall good fabric and nice flat stitches, but … I am 6 feet tall and they are way too short and sit way too low. Bigger size would be way too wide (I have L). So… if you are 5 feet tall would be perfect. Otherwise will require some workarounds

Sorry you were not satisfied with your purchase. A L is for a 30'-32' inseam. Please reach out to us directly to make a return.

Exceptional value and performance

Half the price of Woolx and Ibex. All the quality and performance. Super soft and comfy. Wish there were more color options.

Angela,

Purchased For My…

Purchased For My Wife To Use For Work In Winter Time And Also For Outdoor Adventures/Activity. The Sizing Chart Is Pretty Accurate And They Fit Her Well. She Has Only Worn Them A Few Times As Of Writing This But So Far She Loves Them. They Are Very Warm For Being So Lightweight And Very Flexible And Are Very Well Made. The High Waist Is The Only Thing She's Unsure Of Due To Her Pregnancy Being A Cesarean So It Sits Where Her Scar Is, But These Don't Bother Her As Much As A Lot Of Other Clothing. That Is More Of A Mistake On My Searching Not On The Quality/Design Of The Leggings, But Worth Noting For Anyone In The Same Situation. She Still Wears Them Happily Though And Has Already Recommended Them To Her Friends.

These Leggings Are…

These Leggings Are Great! They Fit Under My Clothes Without Bunching Up And Are Warm And Just The Right Snugness Without Being Too Tight. I Bought Them To Replace My Old Minus33 Long Underwear Which Is Starting To Show Signs Of Wear After 6 Or 7 Years Of Being Worn Nearly Every Day Between October And March.
