Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

nice long sleeves

I am about 5' 6.5", narrow shoulders, long arms. This piece is soft and fits great. Not all Minus33 tops have long enough sleeves to fit me. I have been wearing this over a lightweight merino long sleeve crew and it's cozy. I like the gray material with black sleeves. I'd buy it again. I haven't worn it out exercising yet but I think it would work out well in that regard. I haven't seen how it wears up with washing yet but as long as I wash with cold water and lay out to dry, I'm hoping it will stay nice.

Hello Robin!
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! The Woolverino Trailbreaker Women's Full Zip Hoodie - Midweight is a great piece for outdoor activity! Let us know how it works for you.

Amazing wool hoodie!

Love everything about this hoodie. The wool density, the color scheme, the warmth, the light weight. Bought the women's version one size up because I look better in gray with black accents than men's black with gray accents. Best thing about garment is that it fits nicely and moves with me. So many other hoodies I've tried are too bulky and too heavy; they "hang around" me. This Minus 33 Hoodie gives me a nice wool hug all day long!

Walter,

Super happy to hear you love everything about our Woolverino Trailbreaker Women's Full Zip Hoodie.

Thank you for the great review!

My go-to hoodie!

This hoodie jacket is soft, comfy, warm, stylish and practical. I like my wool sports clothes to do double duty for casual wear too and this jacket fits the bill. I can hike or bike in it then hang out in town and look good. It's a nice in-between weight, light enough for summer summits and evenings and warm enough for spring wear and for fall/winter layering. This style has a long body and arms and covers my hips, which is especially nice when I'm wearing leggings. I'm a long limbed 5'9", 140lbs and got a large for layering. I think I could comfortably wear a medium too but it may be more fitted around my ample butt. Pockets are very generous for my phone, gloves, earbuds and wallet but I try and keep things light cause the fabric is soft & stretchy. Would love to see more colors, in jewel tones. It's been my go-to "sweater" for spring, summer, fall. It's beginning to pill some so I'll see what I can do about that. I just grab this jacket and a windbreaker when I'm heading out the door and I'm ready for the day's adventures!

Norma,

We are pleased to hear that you are enjoying your Minus33 100% Merino Wool Trailbreaker Full Zip Hoodie! Thank you for the detailed review.

Great Jacket

This jacket has great pockets (large enough to fit my phone and still be zippered up) and I like the fit because it is roomy enough for a layer underneath, but I’m not swimming in it. I haven’t worn it in weather that is too cold yet, but it kept me warm during my morning walk in the 40s with just a light T-shirt underneath. It is softer than other wool zip up hoodies I have looked at that were a similar weight. I also appreciate the fact that the whole zipper has a guard (not just the top part near your chin) so there’s always a piece of fabric between the zipper and my base layer. All of the features of this jacket were well thought out.

Jennifer,

Thank you for the great review! Happy to hear how much you like your jacket.
