Message from the President

April 1, 2017 The points list for 2017 has been posted on the USTSA website (link here). There are lists for both the Sprint Classic and Classic formats in addition to an overall points list which averages the two together. Please note that the points calculation follows USSA guidelines this year. If you have any questions, comments or concerns on the points list, please reach out to Garrett Long (garrett@ustsa.org). Regarding Team Nominations, selections have been made and nominations will be emailed out this weekend. With the large number of Competitive Members this year (59 people on the points list, and more than the total membership two years ago) there are a number of people who are valued members of our community who will unfortunately not receive a nomination for a Team spot this year. While not yet finalized, we are working on a Telemark Ambassador designation to highlight the contributions of a number of our veteran racers who's impact and contribution go beyond minutes and seconds on the hill. Furthermore, the Development Team has been re-designated as a Juniors only team with the age cap set at 17 years old. On the events side, your USTSA Board is already hard at work planning for the 2017-2018 season, looking to potentially expand the Freeski circuit, host World Cups in New England, and plan another great year of race events across the country. While we may help make the events happen, they are not successful without all of you. Your participation, support, and assistance are key to the continued growth of this sport and our organization. Please take a few minutes to think about who you might be able to share telemark with to help spread the freeheel joy! Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or comments.
