Minus33 sent members of our Marketing team to North Lake Tahoe, NV for the annual Outdoor Media Summit on October 30 - November 1, 2022.
Outdoor Media Summit is an annual conference held for marketers, influencers, media, and brand representatives in the outdoor industry. The event kicked off with a welcome reception Sunday night in the legendary Thunderbird Lodge overlooking the lake with dinner, drinks, and lots of networking!
Monday morning started with Breakfast with Brands, where sponsoring brands, including Minus33, hosted a breakfast table. Sponsors displayed their logo and swag, giving attendees the chance to grab breakfast and their choice of which table to sit at. "This was a networking opportunity for brands to meet media attendees in a semi-intimate breakfast setting." (OMS, 2022).
The day continued with seminars from speakers from various reaches of the industry. Discussions on the Best Marketing Practices, How to go Viral on Tik Tok, and Life beyond Journalism, were just a few of the topics covered.
The afternoon concluded with the Scavenger Hunt around the breathtaking North Lake Tahoe! Brands and attendees were split into teams to compete against each other in activations and activities with sponsoring brands while learning about the brands and their products! This was a fun way to collaborate with new connections and see a few local tourist spots in Lake Tahoe!
The night ended with more networking, dinner, drinks, and of course, a HALLOWEEN PARTY! Attendees had the typical costumes from Minnie Mouse to the Old Spice man, but our Marketers decided to dress like members of our management team and rock their wool!
Featuring our Men's Lightweight Polo, Kodiak Fleece Expedition Hoodie, Woolverino Men's Raglan T-Shirt, and Mountain Heritage Socks!
The last day concluded with a meeting with the Confluence of States, an organization holding its annual meeting of the States at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort. Directors of Outdoor Recreation and attendees brainstormed ways to improve the outdoor industry and grow outdoor recreation as a whole.
The overarching theme of this year's Summit was sustainability and how brands, influencers, and individuals alike can do their part to move to zero waste, be conscious of their plastic consumption and waste, and how to have a more positive impact moving forward. Awards were given to various brands, influencers, blogs, and more, and the 2023 Outdoor Media Summit was announced to be held in Boise, Idaho next September!
