          Product Story

          Juneau [joo-noh]

Juneau, Alaska is the capital of this magnificent state. Juneau is the only U.S. capital that can only be reached by boat or plane due to the extreme terrain that surrounds it. Because of this, no roads connect Juneau to the rest of the United States. 3,576 foot Mount Juneau overlooks the city.

          Learn About Layering

          Why Merino Wool?

          Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

          Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

          Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

          Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

          UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

          Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

Fabulous but sit way too low

Love everything Minus33 so I thought I would try the leggings. They're amazing but for my hourglass body shape they sit way too low on the waist. The length is fine for the legs though. I will keep them because I'm lazy and don't like to return things and I'm hoping maybe if I keep pulling them up they'll eventually mold to my bod.

Thank you for giving us this feedback! I'll make sure our design team get it! If you do decide to make a return just reach out to us, we'll be happy to help!

Don’t mistake the sporty Juneau style for the more generously styled Kenai

I love Minus 33 merino leggings in particular because they’re so comfortable, well made and long lasting. Even the extra customs cost doesn’t deter me from buying.
Just one warning to women buyers. I recently mistakenly ordered some Juneau style exhibition weight leggings (instead of my usual Kenai) and was surprised to find I could barely get in them and certainly couldn’t wear them. The Juneau are shorter and narrower in the leg and shorter at the waist. I’ve returned them for an exchange.
I’m otherwise always satisfied with Minus 33 customer service and tge amazing products.

          Heavy Leggings

Beautiful, heavy wool leggings; you feel their warmth immediately. Unfortunately, too itchy for me; they would have been great for cold days in Maine, If you’re not sensitive to wool, they would be great as a base layer for outdoor winter activities. Needed to return.

          Thank you for your review.

          Love them

I wear skirts or dresses all year long, I wear my expedition leggings with them in the cooler weather. I also use them as a base layer when hiking/skiing/snowshoeing in the winter. They are warm and they retain their shape (no baggy knees). I love that they are wool and a sustainable fabric. I also have a lighter weight pair to wear during warmer weather. I am not even going to count the Minus 33 shirts I own. Nuff said - I love this clothing!

Very well made and oh so warm!

I love Minus 33 clothing. The wool leggings are great for x-country skiing. Would have liked a higher waist sits a bit low.

Thank you for leaving us a review Catherine. I've passed your feedback along to our design team.
