Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Core Spun Technology

Core Spun yarn provides extra durability while still offering merino's properties next to the skin. The nylon inner core is wrapped with Merino Wool and a touch of spandex for stretch.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

perfect merino tank

Minus33 are the best base layers, and worth the price. Don’t bother with cheaper alternatives. This tank is cut well, neckline is low enough to wear the tank under other shirts without it showing, the cut at shoulder and armpit is comfortable without showing bra. Looks nice enough to wear alone. Lies well as a base layer. Just what I was looking for. Medium fits me perfectly. Would likely be fine for someone bustier too.

Love this tank top.

I have had my wool tank top for about nine months and I still love it. It’s been washed and dried many times, but still looks good. I love the fact that wool does not hold smells. I have the tank top and I have longsleeve wool tops and love them all. They are so warm and soft.

It's the perfect layer !

I ordered my first Minus33 Merino Wool shirt when I was going to Canada last year in the middle of February. It was amazing, and kept this born and bred southerner toasty warm. But when I came home, I realized I wouldn’t need to wear it more than once or twice a season in NC. And even if I got a more lightweight version, I would still have 2 key problems: 1. The neckline on traditional thermal shirts is very high, making layering under normal shirts difficult, and 2. The arms often aren’t tight enough to comfortably layer under a normal shirt. This means I would have trouble wearing it with work clothes, and since I travel for my job, I don’t want to take up a lot of space in my suitcase with layers and sweaters.

Then I found this tank top. It’s amazing. It’s super soft (not itchy at all), keeps my core warm, has a scoop neckline that works even with my v-neck shirts, and without sleeves, solves the problem of bunched up arm layers. It’s perfect. I now have 3 of them. I’ve worn them all winter, and found that I actually wear fewer, thinner, layers to stay warm. They also take up almost zero space in my suitcase! And since merino wool is odor resistant, you can go several wearings without having to wash, which again makes it perfect to travel with. It may seem pricey at first, but try one. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent fit; Cut perfectly to hide bulges and yet has a form-fitted look (not too loose or drapy).

Very soft (as are all my other Minus 33 items, which have all held up great in the washer and dryer). This shirt is 10 grams lighter than a black cotton I have that's the same cut, but it's not sheer. Perfect weight for a tank. Really high quality seams and material.

I have liked everything I've purchased from Minus 33 -- and a little better than Icebreaker, especially when it comes to fit.
