Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

Great Jacket

This jacket has great pockets (large enough to fit my phone and still be zippered up) and I like the fit because it is roomy enough for a layer underneath, but I’m not swimming in it. I haven’t worn it in weather that is too cold yet, but it kept me warm during my morning walk in the 40s with just a light T-shirt underneath. It is softer than other wool zip up hoodies I have looked at that were a similar weight. I also appreciate the fact that the whole zipper has a guard (not just the top part near your chin) so there’s always a piece of fabric between the zipper and my base layer. All of the features of this jacket were well thought out.

Jennifer,

Thank you for the great review! Happy to hear how much you like your jacket.

Mixed feelings

I have been searching for 3 years for a wool product that is what I really want, but settled on this. Quality is great so far. It is long enough to cover my shirt bottoms. It is more for folk who are slim-ish & non-busty &/or as a dedicated close fitting base layer for hikers. It is rather close fitting-slim fitting in torso & arms, so putting it on over my Ossippe's long sleeves is something I don't want to do often during the day. I wanted a lighter colored, sturdy & machine washable wool item with zipper pockets & hood for combined use as spring outerwear, household sweater & as sleeved layer under 3 seasons waterproof jacket.

We are thankful that you found us during your long search, thank you for trying us out!

nice long sleeves

I am about 5' 6.5", narrow shoulders, long arms. This piece is soft and fits great. Not all Minus33 tops have long enough sleeves to fit me. I have been wearing this over a lightweight merino long sleeve crew and it's cozy. I like the gray material with black sleeves. I'd buy it again. I haven't worn it out exercising yet but I think it would work out well in that regard. I haven't seen how it wears up with washing yet but as long as I wash with cold water and lay out to dry, I'm hoping it will stay nice.

Very slim fitting

I love this hoodie BUT the sleeves and the torso are so slim fitting that it’s uncomfortable to wear over a long sleeve shirt. I pretty much live in my Ossipee long sleeve shirts and I will have to save this hoodie for short sleeve weather. For reference, I am 5’5” and 130 pounds. Not a large woman. I ordered a medium. I like the hoodie so much that I ordered a large and hope it will work better.

Hi Kathleen!
