Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

TOTAL EASY CARE

Total Easy Care (TEC) Merino apparel is designed for today's busy lifestyle. Total Easy Care Merino garments are all machine-washable, and are suitable for tumble drying.

Even after frequent laundering they retain an 'as new' appearance. They won't shrink, lose their shape, fade or color-bleed. They remain soft and comfortable for the life of the garment.

These work.

So I work half my day outside. These, hands down, are the best mid weight wool undershirts money can buy. Name the brand I’ve owned it. These get the job done. Can wear two days with no stink. Breathe superbly. Hold up in the wash like a champ. Yes, the sleeves are long. Which is great as I have long arms. In short, these are an actual tool. Part of my work uniform. I depend on base layer warmth. Made like work clothes used to be made. Worth every single dollar I paid for them. If you work outside, and need to keep your core warm, layer up and have these on. Thank you for making dependable work gear. I appreciate it immensely.

Thomas,

We are super pleased to hear that you are happy and comfortable with your Sentinel Men's Crew. Thanks for the great review!

nice t; but what's up with the sleeves?

This is a well-made mid-weight t-shirt, perfect for throwing under a jacket or flannel shirt. Right combo of stretch and softness. Only complaint is the sleeves, which, for a t-shirt, are long and weirdly flappy. Given that this shirt has stretch, the over-sized sleeve is a mystery.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review.

My favorite go-to tee!!

I have been wearing the Minus 33 mid-weight merino wool tee shirt for many years now. It is warm, handles moisture well and is my first layer for the three cooler seasons of the year. In fact, I just purchased three more. My only regret is than it only comes in black. Please, please, please offer this tee in other colors so my wife and friends will stop accusing me of wearing the same shirt everyday.

Seriously, more colors please!

Timothy,

We are glad to hear you are happy with your 100% Merino Wool Sentinel Men's S/S Crew - Midweight. We will pass your color suggestion along to our product development team.

Awesome t-shirt

I have no complaints, they're great for lounging around the house, for walking outside, for staying warm in cold weather, and even doninating sweat in warmer weather.

Just get a good wool cleaner for when it does get dirty and dry laying down.

Charles,

Thanks for the great review! We are glad that you are happy with your Minus33 T-Shirt. We are also thrilled to see that you enjoy wearing your T-Shirt for different types of activities and temperatures.
