          Kobuk [koe-book]

Kobuk Valley is home to a National Park, 500,000 migrating Caribou, majestic sand dunes, and the life of them all, the Kobuk River. Being so remote and with no roads leading to this beautiful place, it’s not hard to see why so few travelers make it to see the annual Caribou migration. Kobuk Valley is located inside the Arctic Circle, where temperatures can fall as low as -50 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter night.

          Learn About Layering

          Why Merino Wool?

          Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

          Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

          Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

          Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

          UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

          Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

Great shirt, although neck a little loose

This is my third expedition weight piece (see my review of the crew neck, which I love), and it's great. Really like the long sleeves with thumb-holes - great for people like me with long arms (35"). My one complaint is that the neck is so loose - as you can see on the model. I have a 17" neck and the large is at least 2" too big around for me

We're glad you like the Expedition pieces! Thumb holes are a must have for long sleeves in the winter!

Best and most cost effective Merino on the market

I love Minus 33, have been wearing their items for over ten years, and some of them I am still wearing, after ten years. Very responsive company, fast shipping and they stand behind their products, which are ethically manufactured.

          Mark,

Thank you for the great review and keep warm!

TOP QUALITY MERCHANDISE FOR EXTREME COLD EXPEDITION EDITION

Expedition for extreme cold is the highest density quality merino wool ... both well constructed fior durability comfortable and not bulky or constricting of movement.

The best I’ve ever owned hands down. I always buy expensive Under Armour again its a simply a no brainer never agai when I can get Minus 33 high density merino wool product at or blow same price point as inferior thin polyester blend brands.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! Wool will most definitely keep you warmer than any synthetic!

          Good after one trip.

I purchased this primarily to use as a mid layer when hunting in cold weather, but will use it on cold days during normal activities. Quality is good and I don’t find it itchy at all. The weakest part of these garments can be the stitching which looks fine, but time will tell. I have only used this on one trip so far, which was an antelope hunt in Wyoming at the end of September. Weather was way too warm to wear during the day, but I wore it to bed every night for 6 nights and it was warm, comfortable and stayed odorless. I wear between a 2x-3x and ordered a 2x which fits a little snug on me and is a little short. I’m 6’ and heavy. I have high hopes that this product will last, but time will tell. So far so good.

A great addition to the wardrobe for the winter. Glad you like the top so far. Thank you for your review.
