          Learn About Layering

          Why Merino Wool?

          Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

          Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

          Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

          Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

          UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

          Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

          Fabulous, flexible and must-have shirt

I bought this for skiing in below zero temps in New Hampshire, which it's been great for. But when I was being treated for throat cancer I found the micro-fine merino was, oddly enough, once of the few fabrics my radiation-burned neck could tolerate, and I basically lived in it for weeks, discovering that it is also amazingly temperature-regulating, keeping me warm and comfortable during chemo (which can be chilling because of all the cold fluids infused into you). I loved it so much I bought a second one - highly recommended

This is wonderful! Makes me happy to hear that our products helped so much.

Perfect base layer for tall people

At last, a merino base that fits a 6'4" bloke (XL Tall). No more cold backs or short sleeves. Fits so well. The quality is awesome too, great weave and stitching, looks like it will last really well. Thanks for offering the tall fit, keep more ranges coming in those sizes please. Best fitting base layer I've ever had.

          So warm

Expedition wool crew is a must for winters in Maine. I wish there were more colors in expedition. I also wish you made the mock crew without a zipper in expedition.

Oh you definitely do need it for our winters!!! I will pass your suggestions along to our design team. Thank you for your review.

          OUTSTANDING

Can not say enough good things. Our 7 and 9 year old ski in below zero temps all season and never complain! Interestingly I was recently fighting through COVID and found great comfort in my base layer gear. During the feverish times it was not bad and during the chills I was warm. Certainly not what I thought I would be using this product for when I bought it but I am sure glad I had it.

I am the guy who would wear as little as possible walking into my tree stand as I did not want to sweat and then try and sit all day eventually getting cold. Not a problem with this gear. I will never buy another product other than Minus 33 for any of my outdoor activities. You will not regret buying anything from this company.

          Ben,

We are glad to hear that you stayed warm and comfy while you were ill. Thank you for the great review and keep warm!
