            Wilderness Expedition

Our new Wilderness Expedition collection is designed to be lighter weight than our classic Expedition line, twice as durable, and just as warm. These hearty mid-layers are built to last with a double layer Ponte knit that is sure to beef up your next adventure. From early morning bushwhacks to your favorite tree stand, to long wet days in the alpine zone, and every climb, creek crossing, and dog walk in between, we’ve got you covered.

Ponte de Roma is the name of a double knitting technique that consists of two layers of fabric knitted together. Ponte fabric is tightly knitted, making it very durable. It's stretchy, soft, doesn't wrinkle, and has a naturally flattering drape, which lets these mid-layers crossover perfectly from the outdoors to the office, and everything in between.

            Why Merino Wool?

            Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

            Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

            Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

            Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

            UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

            Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

            Great Midlayer

I think this full zip is awesome.
            Only reason I wouldn't give 5 star is I'm 6'-4" and I can't get it in tall.
I hate feeling like a kid, who's outgrown his clothes!

I will pass your tall suggestions on to our design team. Thank you for your review.

            My first wool clothing

I bought three different weights of clothing: a woolverino 1/4 zip (super lightweight); a lightweight T and polo; and the expedition full zip. The quality of the clothing is excellent! It adjusts to my body temp, making any place comfortable. There is a little bit of pilling around the collar of my T shirt, but it’s not enough that anybody but me would notice. I have not washed any of the items yet through multiple wearings, but there is no bad odor smell and I sweat a lot. Shipping was fast, too. 5 stars for these items, and Minus 33 is tops for customer care! Thank you!

Hi Alan! Thank you for trying the different weights and for the great review! We're so glad you're so happy!

            Excellent

I bought this several weeks ago and have been using it heavily since. The workmanship is flawless and the fit is perfect. The combination of this jacket and a light wool base layer (plus a shell top when windy) is perfect for 3-season hikes in the Chuckanuts where a very common temperature range is between high 20s and mid 40s. The reason for only 4 stars is the zipper pulls. Any garment with zippers intended for backcountry use in cold conditions should have zipper pulls of 1.5 inches. If the manufacturer won't put them on, they can at least use metal zipper pulls with large enough holes in the end so you can add extensions.

Love the quality, hate the new sleeve design.

I bought a second heavyweight full zip base layer jacket because I was very impressed with the one I have been wearing for the past 2 years. While I am happy with the new zipper pockets, I am not as pleased with the new cuff design. It’s like wearing “ bell-bottom” sleeves. Your original oval thumb opening allowed for a better fit at the wrists. The new style thumb slit design makes the cuffs really cumbersome when you aren’t using the thumb opening....the cuffs are huge.

            mid weight layers

We are not athletic, but, spend a great deal of time working outside. The mid weight layers are like a second skin, so comfortable, and weightless. Worth every dollar!!!
