          Product Story

          Kenai [kee-nie]

The Kenai Peninsula is located on the southern coast of Alaska, bordered on one side by Cook Inlet and the Alaska Ocean on the other. It’s often called the "Alaskan Playground" because of all the activities available in the area; for example, wildlife sightseeing, kayaking and canoeing, dog sledding, and fishing.

          Learn About Layering

          Why Merino Wool?

          Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

          Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

          Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

          Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

          UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

          Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

          Ill Fitted

Warm, comfortable either alone or under pants, and sized perfectly. Unfortunately the rise is cut too short and rides low on back so that I constantly pull them up. I had to double check that I didn't have a man's base layer. A pocket on the leg would be helpful. These would be great for a runner, but not the average woman.

Thank you for leaving us a review. I'm sorry that our wool bottoms weren't a good fit for you . If you would like to make a return or exchange please reach out to us. We have both a 30 day guarantee as well as a 1 year manufacturer's warranty for situations just like this. Please let me know if you have any questions!

          Kenai leggings not the same

I have 2 other pairs bought a couple years ago
          These are totally different
          Not as warm
          Shiny. Outer cover
          Inside not soft

          Amazing quality

These feel like a nice pair of knit dress pants. They fit like my favorite yoga pants.

I did size up and they are perfect.
I desired a looser legging for layering and wearing under dresses.

I can fold up the cuff and wear these to work with a tunic, a pair of flats, or warm boots. I can layer a snug pair of lightweight leggings underneath, I can even layer the same size midweight leggings underneath.

I wear them alone (with a tunic top) for daily wear, layered over a thin base layer for camping, orwith a pair of hiking pants on top to protect the lovely fabric.

Soft to the skin, but for active wear I would wear a thinner base layer underneath.

For leggings while at work, or for sleeping in my hammock, they are perfect

          5'6 165
          33-34 waist
          40-41 hips

I purchased the xl & love them, but they are not snug fitting.i would buy the large if I wanted a close/athletic fit or if I wanted to layer more items on top.

I prefert to wear these as a mid or outer layer

          Wish there were more colors!

I've worn these pants the past few winters, and they're perfect and comfortable for a NY winter. I only wish there were more colors!

          Cynthia,
