      Product Story

      Chocorua [shoh-kor-oh-wah]

Mt. Chocorua is the easternmost peak in the Sandwich Mountain Range, located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. At 3,490 feet, this identifiable mountain offers clear views from its bare summit in all directions.

      Midweight
      Merino Wool

Versatile and comfortable, our Merino Wool will always have your back. Designed as a three-season garment, our Midweight works great as either a base or mid layer.

      Midweight Details

Our Midweight styles have all the same natural qualities as our Lightweight Merino Wool, with greater insulation. Minus33 Merino Wool Clothing is perfect as a base layer for a day on the slopes or as an emergency pullover when a cold front rolls in just before you summit.

      Learn about Layering

      Why Merino Wool?

      Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

      Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

      Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

      Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

      UV Protection

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

      Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

Please expand your big and tall line!

Excellent clothing that fits. I’m 6’5”, 235, muscular with long arms. My brother is quite a bit larger. The 3XL fits us both. Love the long arms, long torso. Longest of any brand I’ve tried. (Tried lots) It can be fragile. Picking burrs put small holes in the sleeves of my first one. My frustration is lack of other choices in the big and tall line. How about something with a hood? Higher neck? Expedition weight?

Thank you for your suggestions. I will pass along to our design team. Thank you for leaving a review.

      Awesome quality

I haven’t tried it on in the cold yet, but the quality and fit is awesome. Definitely softer than another well known brand, so I’m glad I bought from Minus33. Definitely would buy again

Thank you for sharing your experiences so far! If you ever need anything please reach out to us so we can best assist!

      Solid shirt that lasts

I went back through old orders and realized I was still wearing a shirt ordered on December 17th, 2013. Seven years old! It has a few holes in it in the front from general abuse but this stuff holds up. The more you wash it, the softer it gets. This is not clothing you use for a year and throw away - This is an investment. I wrote a review for the pants too but the same applies. I take the top and bottoms with me everywhere I go. They've gone with me on deployments to the middle east, to the Olympic mountains in Washington, to the coastal areas of North Carolina, on business trips to Minneapolis in January (I quit that company)...When my reserve unit goes to the field it's usually to Wisconsin in February for cold-weather training...I take this shirt and bottoms. Cannot say enough about the quality, warmth, and how it still keeps you warm when you're wet. I'd give it seven stars if I could. Would love to upload a photo of my old shirt just to show you what it looks like but I don't think these reviews support photos. When I bought the set I think they only had dark grey, blue, or black...good thing because the grey hides all the stains and dirt.
