Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.

Anti-Microbial

Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away, so foot fungus and smelly odor will not be a problem while wearing our products.

Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Renewable

Merino Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a merino sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.

A+ for Comfort - C for Durability

TL:DR These are the most comfortable underwear I own... but they wore out after 2 months of thru-hiking. Would still buy again.

I love these boyshorts. The wool is wicked soft, not too thick, and breathes well. The legs are long enough to actually cover my butt and some of my leg (whereas other boyshorts are glorified briefs with some extra hip). They're my ideal underwear, almost.

I wore these while Thru-Hiking the PCT and within a month and a half they wore down almost completely. There is almost no material left in the bum and the wool has seemingly worn away leaving only a paper-thin see-through mesh which I assume is the nylon core (which is also on its way out). It took a while longer to get an actual hole, but once the wool wore away it didn't really wick much and I started chafing on hotter days.

This material is comfortable, and the cut is superb, but I'd expect more than 40 of wear, even if my use case was extreme.

Hi Sydney,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and for giving us your honest feedback. It is greatly appreciated. We are happy to hear that you love the comfort and the cut of your Minus33 Woolverino Micro Weight Wool Boyshorts. We apologize that they did not perform up to your expectations while thru-hiking the pacific crest trail. We will gladly replace the pair or pairs that have worn out on you, as this is covered under our 1 year warranty and provide you with a discount for a future order as well.

Please contact us at Info@Minus33.com or give us a call at 603-968-3351.

Best,

-Steven D
