How to Measure

Chest: Measure the circumference around the fullest part of your chest, underneath the arms.

Waist: Measure the circumference around the natural waist, near the belly button.

Hip: Measure the circumference around the fullest part of your hips.

Shirt Length: This measurement refers to the approximate size of the shirt back length, from the neck to the bottom hem.

Inseam: Measure from the center of the crotch to the end of the ankle.

Skin tight, slim, compression style fit. Wear this layer first and add on top of it if needed.

Fits best as: Base Layer, Mid Layer

True to size, standard fit with a little bit of room to breathe, but not too baggy. Perfect on its own or with a t-shirt or thin shirt underneath.

Fits best as: Mid Layer, Insulating Layer, Outer Layer

A little more room than you would find in a Regular fit. Enough space to fit 1-2 layers underneath.

Fit FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

If you are between sizes, we recommend sizing up or down based on what fit type you would prefer, and based on how you plan to wear the piece. Our knitted merino is stretchy and you could realistically go with either size. If you would prefer an Athletic fit, size down. If you prefer a Regular or Relaxed fit, size up.

Do I need to size up/down to layer?

Generally, no, you do not need to purchase a different size than normal. Our base layers are designed to fit right into your current layering system. They are also designed to work with other products in our line, too. You may wish to adjust your sizing if you plan to wear one of our garments in a way that it is not intended, if that's the case please feel free to contact our customer service team for help.

Does your clothing run true to size?

Yes, our clothing runs true to size and is sized similar to most other American brands. If a sizing discrepancy is discovered, you will see fit advice in that product's specific listing.

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do.

Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.

Soft and Comfortable!

I am honestly so in love with this sweater. It is incredibly soft and comfortable to the touch, while being warm and cozy. There is a nice amount of stretch which means you can wear it over other layers if you want, but it also looks great by itself. I ordered an XL which is my usual size and it fits perfectly. The mock neck would be perfect as a mid-layer for outdoor exercise, especially for those who feel like turtlenecks are too restrictive, and the flatlock seams means that you never have uncomfortable seams pressing into your skin as you layer other things on top of this. I was especially impressed by how well it held up during wear. I foster puppies and their sharp little nails snag EVERYTHING that I wear, so when this sweater came out with only a few extremely small snags after two wears I am beyond impressed. I know it's a little expensive, but honestly, it's such a good value being 100% Merino wool, and having a UPF rating of 50+ which means it protects your skin as well as SPF 50, which is perfect if you live at high elevations like me. Now, you need to remember to NEVER put this in the dryer because it will likely result in dramatic shrinkage, but if you wash and flat dry, I think this will hold up for years! To be honest, I will be purchasing other items from this seller because I'm so impressed by this top, and I would HIGHLY recommend it!
