Minus33 Merino wool clothing, Hiking the Trail

Hiking The Trail Reviewed The Explorer Men's Midweight Crew!

HIKING THE TRAIL REVIEWED THE EXPLORER MEN’S MIDWEIGHT CREW!

Hiking The Trail reviewed three Minus33 products, including the Explorer Midweight Crew, and came away impressed. They said, “I have been extremely happy with all three products and will continue to test and wear them until they have to be retired to the great laundry pile in the sky.”

ON THE CHOCORUA MIDWEIGHT CREW...

"The Chocorua Midweight crew is comfortable, soft, warm, and dries quickly. This should not come as a surprise because merino wool is amazing. The problem I had with this shirt was that it quickly warmed up my core so much so that on several occasions I had to remove a layer in order to cool down. Not a bad problem to have if you ask me. Compared to other merino shirts I have worn the Minus33 products are a tad bit thicker than comparable products by other brands. I would not consider this to be a negative mark on the shirt but instead a positive one. Overall I found that it felt nice, stretched well during activities and kept me warm."

ON THE EXPLORER MIDWEIGHT CREW...

"This shirt is a heavier weight than the crew and feels less like an undershirt and more of a true mid layer. You can wear it as an undershirt or as your only layer and feel comfortable. As the temperatures rise here in Arizona I have been able to wear this as both an under layer and my main layer to keep my core temperature balanced while hiking. The added panels allow for more flexibility. The thumb-holes help keep the sleeves from rolling up as well as help keep it from bunching up when putting on other layers. Overall I have found this shirt to be comfortable and it remains soft and stink free even when worn for several days in a row."

ON THE ACADIAN LIGHTWEIGHT BOXER BRIEFS...

"Soft, stretchy, and extremely comfortable. These by far have been the most comfortable merino underwear I have worn. The best part of these is that they do not roll or bunch up. They stay in place and with the “Flat Lock” seams they also do not chafe. The jersey knit makes them soft even after being washed and worn on a regular basis. Of the three products I have gotten to try out from Minus33 these are my favorite."
