  1. 4.5 out of 5

    steve - :

Best shirt I own! Heavier weight than my other (competitor's) lightweight wool shirt. Feels sturdy and stitching looks high quality. This is probably a little too warm for me for summer hiking (NM mountains stay 60-70 deg), but perfect for summer night campfire shirt, spring and fall hiking, and layering. 4-1/2 stars because it does itch slightly compared to (same competitor's wool shirt). Still it is the nicer of the two wool shorts I wear.

Been wearing short sleeve wool crews for a number of years but lack of color in long sleeve in my size kept me away from them. Now that I'm a slimmer active fat person I am able to wear a size with some color. Sitting here in my bright green lightweight long sleeve, staying comfortable until house cools down to sweater-required temp. Sleeve and body length has stayed long enough after washing to provide coverage I want. Color is great. The fabric feels good on the skin. It wears well as a base layer with a heavy sweater when I'm raking leaves or feeding the birds. Can't beat wool for comfort when I'm getting a yard workout in. That it wicks and doesn't retain odors are other pluses. Also light and packs up small so taking a spare to work is no bother.

Very soft, warm. I wish you had a larger variety of colors!

I was worried about it being too big and create issues when layering. This item hugs my body just right.

Base Layer
Base Layer

Think of your Base Layer as your second skin. These are your first layers on and your last layers off. These foundation layers should be thermal, moisture-wicking, and breathable. Proper layering of your garments is very important and in extreme cases may save your life. Consider your activities carefully and plan for the unexpected. Learn more about layering.

Regular Fit
Regular Fit

Standard fit with a little bit of room, but not baggy. Works best as a base layer, or when worn alone. Can also be worn as a mid or insulating layer. If you are looking for a tighter, athletic fit, try going to the next size down. Learn About Fit & Sizing.

Tagless Construction
Tagless Construction

Tagless labeling ends the need for a traditional tag. Tagless garments allow for increased comfort by eliminating the itching and scratching associated with a traditional tag.

Flat Lock Seams
Flat Lock Seams

Flat lock seams allow for ultimate comfort, preventing chafing and allowing your clothes to move with you. Flat lock seams are stronger, helping your garments last.

Total Easy Care
Total Easy Care TEC

Total Easy Care (TEC) Merino apparel is designed for today’s busy lifestyle. Total Easy Care Merino garments are all machine-washable, and are suitable for tumble drying. Even after frequent laundering they retain an ‘as new’ appearance. They won’t shrink, lose their shape, fade or color-bleed. They remain soft and comfortable for the life of the garment. TEC is a textile innovation used by Minus33 that was developed by the Woolmark Company.

Moisture Wicking
Moisture Wicking

Minus33 Merino Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere. Wool is a classic natural insulator, but is just as effective in warmer weather due to its rapid moisture wicking ability. Learn more about wool properties.

Anti-Microbial and Odor Resistant
Anti Microbial and Odor Resistant

With less moisture comes less odor. Minus33 Merino Wool resists against microbes and odor, so foot fungus and smelly odor will NOT be a problem while wearing our products. Merino Wool fibers naturally reject any bacteria in moisture or sweat as it is wicked away. This means you don’t have to wash wool as often. Less laundry means less water being used, benefiting our planet. Learn more about wool properties.

Insulates When Wet
Insulates When Wet

Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, whether it be from sweat, weather, or water bodies, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials. This is especially important if you are in a survival situation, and can help prevent or delay hypothermia depending on the conditions. Learn more about wool properties.

Fire Resistant
Fire Resistant

Merino Wool insulates against high temperatures and does not readily catch fire. If it does, it self-extinguishes. When Merino burns, it doesn’t melt and stick to the skin like synthetic fabrics do. For this reason, merino is popular among military, firefighting, and law enforcement communities. Learn more about wool properties.
