New England's first White Water Park is coming to Franklin Falls, NH!
"Mill City Park at Franklin Falls is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create the City’s first whitewater and outdoor adventure park in the northeast. An 11-acre parcel in downtown Franklin proved to be an ideal location for the whitewater park and multi-functional park facilities. The site will capture bicycle traffic from the Winnepesaukee River Trail on the opposite side of the Winnepesaukee River (on the south side of the Mill City Park parcel) and pedestrian traffic from downtown Franklin. Additionally, this particular section of the Winnepesaukee River already has a strong whitewater paddling user-base, drawing in paddlers from throughout the northeast. This parcel is also large enough to provide space for a multitude of outdoor activities." - Mill City Park
In the Spring of 2021, MCP reached out to a number of New England businesses to help fund the project. Minus33 participated in the funding, with a $10,000 contribution.
On July 12, 2021, the Mill City Park had it's official groundbreaking to begin the construction of the White Water feature. Legislators and town officials spoke about the project, the history of Franklin and the impact the Park will have on the future of Franklin. Owner of Outdoor New England and Executive Director of the Mill City Park, Marty Parichand, spoke about the influence of pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and the importance of building relationships in all that we do.
