Here is the USA Luge schedule for the fall training and World Cup competition periods

FALL TRAINING (subject to change)

  • Athletes in Lake Placid until late September
  • Sept. 15 – Annual USA Luge Start Championships
  • Sept. 25 – Oct. 4 / Lillehammer, Norway
  • Oct. 7-13 / Whistler, B.C. / Seeding race 1 on Oct. 13
  • Oct. 15-19 / Calgary, Alb. / Seeding race 2 on Oct. 18 or 19
  • Oct. 21-29 / Lake Placid / Norton National Championships (prime opportunity in the pre-season for media availability). Weather permitting the team will be on the ice from 9-11 AM.

2017 Norton Seeding Race 1 Results

WHISTLER, British Columbia – Sochi Olympic bronze medalist Erin Hamlin, Tucker West and the doubles team of Matt Mortensen and Jayson Terdiman, all won their respective divisions Friday in the USA Luge Norton Seeding race at Whistler, B.C. that officially kicked off the new season.

The United States Telemark Ski Association (USTSA) announced the rosters for the 2017-2018 US Telemark Teams.  There are three team levels with three top racers named to the A Team.  Fourteen were named to the B Team and another four to the Development (or D) Team.

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The mantra of luge is to be fast and cool. Jon Wooten nailed it in 2014 when Erin Hamlin, in a Wooten-painted helmet, raced to the first Olympic singles medal in USA Luge history. The three-time Olympian was also the first female in American luge history to stand on an Olympic podium.

USA Luge announces 2017 summer national training group

16 athletes named to training pool; 10 will qualify for Pyeongchang

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – After competitions last winter and spring, USA Luge has named a pool of 16 athletes for its 2017 summer training group. The 10 members of the Pyeongchang Olympic team will qualify from this initial pool of racers.

Three men and three women will represent the United States in singles next February, along with two doubles teams.
